Wesker eventually decides to let Leon be a useful tool instead, and allows him to continue operating as a means of wrecking havoc among the Los Illuminados and giving Ada more opportunity to succeed in her original mission.
At a secret Los Illuminados facility, Ada helps to distract cult leader Osmund Saddler so Leon can rescue Ashley, only for Ada to be captured and used as bait by Saddler to lure Leon into a trap. Leon rescues Ada and battles Saddler, afterwards securing the Plagas sample in his possession. Ada, however, has other plans. Holding Leon at gunpoint, she demands the sample, takes it, and jumps off a cliff and into a helicopter waiting to extract her.
She then activates timed explosives all around the area and tells Leon he better get a move on, tossing him the keys to a nearby Jet Ski. Not exactly. As is revealed in later parts of the franchise, Ada's employer didn't trust Wesker, who they knew to be working with yet another rival company named Tricell.
Had the sample fallen into Wesker's hands, he would have used it for his own benefit. Instead, Ada was all along working against Wesker, bringing the sample back to her employers at the organization instead.
A Resident Evil 4 remake may shed more light on Ada's mysterious employer and her personal reasons for saving Leon time and time again. Unlike in earlier games, RE7's main cast are mainly civilians in over their heads, adding an extra layer of tension to the plot.

She acts as a medic for her first S. He was once a former US Marine, but by the time he meets up with Rebecca and comes into the RE story, he is a criminal facing a tough sentence for his war crimes. Billy is gruff and prickly, probably owing to the fact that he's innocent of his crimes.
Billy has been MIA since RE0, but just in case, his plotline is one of those oft-forgotten ones that are worth remembering. He has an important role in the story, as a member of Umbrella Pharmaceutical's clean-up crew. Since his glow-up reappearance with the release of the Resident Evil 3 remake, and his absence from any other game in the franchise, Carlos is a favorite whom many fans would like to see make a return in Resident Evil Village.
Sheva Alomar is a playable character who appears only in Resident Evil 5 , the first in the mainline series of the RE games to be a co-op game.
