S4 League. History Talk 0. I won't force it on others. S4 League's mechanics are continuously being butchered into seperate pieces with more and more weapons. Very much like K-Style, specific weapons were required to perform specific maneuvers, especially with the newer weapons.
Plasma Sword for charging forward. Counter sword for "guarding" melee attacks. Dual Magnums for evading while firing, which fails by the way. Revolver to push enemies away with shots. Seperate skills to do other things. I can see the seperate skills adding variety, but even those are immensely imbalanced. Most are not even used because other ones have more power. I can also understand that some would prefer to specialize in some concepts rather than having versatility, but that's where focus should come to play, not restrictive designs.
With that last sentence, it makes me wonder why they didn't allow the shield trooper to do most standard moves in midair. The feel of it was better, I absolutely fell in love with the music enough to actually purchase DJ Max Trilogy , and the announcer was fantastic. Then again, S4 League had a lot of stuff that would be considered overpowered in Gunz 2. The railgun sniper rifle could fire perfectly straight without having to scope, none of the weapons required burst-fire, and almost every melee weapon killed in just one hit because crits weren't random if you thought they were, you didn't play S4 enough.
One of the reasons I started playing S4 League in the first place is because I saw a video and found out there was wall damage. Smack someone into a wall, they take more damage and you get a longer window to kill them while they're sliding down.
S4 League wasn't really in a state of "major imbalance", though, not before Patch That's kind of an exaggeration. However, Gunz 2 doesn't have an SP bar. That means more to me than you might think. Gunz 2 is currently better, because I put that much value into player balance. Naposledy upravil Netsa ; Plasma's charging attack was unique to it, true, it gave the weapon some personality.
What you have suggested it to effectively give all weapons in the game the same abilities. Why would you want that? You also neglect to remind people that you had three weapons on you.
You could take a revolver or shotgun or pistol for knock back, take a plasma sword for the dashing, and take a medium range weapon for versitility. I commonly used a Shotgun,Semi-Rifle,Katana combo.
